An interesting editorial from examiner.com

Our director Lichen recently read this opinion editorial on how societal beliefs that animals are disposable, and people’s tendency to rehome, even put down their family dog when things become overwhelming or challenging often leads to more dogs dying needlessly.

We agree that it is important to explore all options for rehabilitating a physically or behaviourally challenged pet before giving up on them. Animals are a lifelong commitment and they rely on their families to take care of them and do the best they can to ensure their dog leads a long, healthy and happy life. If only all dog owners were as loyal as their canine companions.
